1¢ Franklin Issue of 1857-1861, PLATE 10 Position 91R10, (Scott #24) |
| Scott #24 Blue, Type V, Relief F Issued only Perforate. The Neinken plating diagrams do not illustrate this position. Part of a block of four, 81R10, 82R10, 91R10 and 92R10 The heavy dot in the "C" of CENT has been confirmed as constant and also has been confirmed on Positions 91 thru 100R10. The plating diagrams do not indicate this mark. This dot was probably a bit of matter that attached itself to the transfer roller when the plate was being made and should also appear on 6th row positions (51R thru 60R). |

| FIGURE 1. (Below) Detail of the lower left quadrant showing a heavy dividing line. Plate 10 had no centerline. Instead of the typical centerline dividing the left and right panes, a mark was placed between the tops of 10L and 1R10 and similar mark was placed between the bottoms of 100L and 91R10. The latter mark can be seen at the far lower left.
