Figure 1. (BELOW) The red arrow below the U of U.S. indicates the small colorless "F" Relief flaw. The Ashbrook/Neinken diagrams exaggerate the size of this flaw. This plate flaw is found on all stamps coming from the 6th and 10th row of Plate 4.

Figure 2. (BELOW) The curl on shoulder. The only variety listed in the Scott Specialized Catalogue under 6 and 19, the Type Ia, is this position 97L4, "curl in shoulder." This curl and resulting variety was produced by a small thread or shaving of material adhering to the relief roller during the transfer on to the plate.
