1¢ Franklin Issue of 1851-1857, PLATE 4 Pos 70R4, (Scott #8) |
| Scott #8, Blue, Type III , Relief C Issued both imperforate and perforate. Had this been a perforate copy then it would be Scott Number 21. The tops of the plate imprint can be seen to the right. The plating diagrams also indicate a long faint vertical curving line protruding from Ornament "F." Plate 4 changed it's appearance quickly as it wore and not surprisingly this line cannot be seen on this copy. The violet arrows are marks of interest and may or may not be consistent. This is part of a horizontal pair consisting of 69R4 and 70R4. Courtesy of Richard Celler |
