(Below) Neinken plating diagrams show a scratch mark at this location. (Red Arrow) He may of been trying to note that the side scratch, typical of "D" reliefs, originating from Ornament E and F was broken.

Figure 2. (Below) Red arrows (mid photo) indicate a vertical scratch parallel to the normal side scratch. The Neinken plating drawings show this only cutting across Ornament Q. The photomicrograph clearly shows this mark extending up to Ornament O and down to Ornament R. The violet arrows point out other scratch marks not shown on the plating diagrams.

The lower red arrows show the horizontal blur mark indicated in the plating drawings.
