CURL IN HAIR VARIETY

The other plating marks not shown in the Neinken plating diagrams, but described here, should allow the specialist to quickly differentiate 33R9 from 34R9.

FIGURE 2. (Red arrows below) Plating mark as indicated in Neinken. The violet arrows indicating the large side scratch typical of "D" relief subjects. It should be noted that 34R9 also has the curl in hair but the side scratch is not indicated on the Neinken plating drawings.

FIGURE 3. (Red arrows below) Plating mark not indicated in the Neinken plating diagrams. A very faint scratch protruding from Ornament "A."

FIGURE 4. (Red arrows below) A small curl in shoulder not indicated in the Neinken plating diagrams.

FIGURE 5. (Red arrows below) 2 lines in the "O" of ONE indicated in the Neinken plating diagrams. This copy does not show this feature well. There is a small blurry dot left of the plume remains which is not shown in the Neinken plating diagrams, but has been confirmed on another copy. The other line in the "O" (Violet arrows) is probably an ink smear.

FIGURE 6. (Red arrows below) A heavy scratch running into the "N" of CENT is also not shown in the plating diagrams but has been confirmed on another copy as consistent.
