BIG DOUBLE TRANSFER

According to Neinken, 52R9 is rare in used condition, most likely because stamps that had the horizontal perforations placed high into the design, destroyed the principal traces of the variety.

FIGURE 3. (Red arrows below) A heavy dot above the A of POSTAGE, are the remains of the lower part of Ornament W. All positions on this row share this feature to some degree but on 52R9 the dot is the smallest.
